The Studentenwerk Magdeburg election benchmarks for the Saxony-Anhalt state election 2026

In the run-up to the state election in Saxony-Anhalt on September 6, we have developed election benchmarks that address key issues from a student’s perspective—ranging from affordable housing, student financing, and mobility to internationalization, counseling services, and student participation in university decision-making. With these election benchmarks, we aim to provide an overview of the approaches and priorities that political actors are setting in these areas. The responses are intended to give students the opportunity to learn about the various positions and compare them with one another. In this way, we hope to help students navigate the election landscape.

To obtain responses to the election questionnaire, we wrote to all parties and parliamentary groups currently represented in the State Parliament of Saxony-Anhalt. Parties that are not currently represented in the State Parliament were therefore not included.
