Relatively few students are able to finance their studies with BAföG or parental maintenance only.

Most students can’t do without a part-time job during term time and/or during semester breaks.

For this purpose many employment agencies provide work opportunities for students. Any interested person can get there information or advice and register.

Another way to find a job is virtual “bulletin boards” of some higher education institutions.

However, questions about different aspects of social security legislation occur frequently, especially in connection with the subject of “Study and Job”. For example, can my employment cause problems with student health insurance? What is menial labour and what should be kept in mind?

These and many other issues that are being raised can be discussed and explained in the General Social Counselling section.
