You can make non-cash payment in all establishments of the University Catering Department using a smart card. It will save you from the hassle of searching for small change and waiting times at the register, so that you get faster to enjoy your hot meal.

The white smart card issued by the Studentenwerk Magdeburg for:

  • the students of the Magdeburg-Stendal University

  • the member of staff of the University of Magdeburg and the Magdeburg-Stendal University

  • guests

What can I use the smart cards for?

  • for payment in all canteens and cafeterias

  • for making copies using photocopiers in all the universities

  • for using washers and dryers in the student halls of the Studentenwerk

How can I get the smart cards?

  • students on presentation of a valid student ID card

  • staff members on presentation of a valid identity card or staff number

  • guests by specifying the identity card number and

  • by paying a 5 € deposit

Where can I get the Studentenwerk smart card?

  • at the Infopoint of the Canteen UniCampus and the Infopoint of the Canteen Herrenkrug

  • at the registers in the Magdeburg-Stendal University canteens

  • at the registers in the Harz University canteen

The students of the University of Magdeburg and the Harz University receive student ID cards from their universities. These cards come with the wallet as a payment function.

The requirement for the payment function of the smart card

Please top up the smart card with 5,-/10,-/20,- or 50,- € beforehand using the designated loading stations. The credit balance limit of the card is 100,- €.

Error reporting and card loss

If you get error messages when reading the card or if it is lost, please notify the employees of the place where you obtained the smart card.

Validity

The card is valid as long as you are a student or staff member of one of the universities. Please return the smart card without request after removal from the register of students or retirement from the university.
