The head of the Social Services department is Mrs Montoya Martinez. She offers counselling and information on the following topics:

• Studies and pregnancy (welfare, BAföG, taking a semester break…)
• Questions regarding being a studend / a parent
• Concerns of handicapped and chronically-sick students
• Problems for foreign students
• Questions regarding the application for a hardship loan `Studentenwerk` Magdeburg or the German student bureau (DSW)
• Questions regarding the application for food stamps for the cafeteria of the Studentenwerk Magdeburg
• Financial help and welfare
• Student Jobs - What students should take into consideration regarding employment  (Notice: no job center) 
• Health insurance for students
• Student fees per semester
