Foreign students often experience a variety of problems, often facing crises that German students don’t notice. 
Many have to study in a foreign language and assimilate a culture different than their own. Problems understanding the application of residency and labor laws often occupy much of the time and energies they need to put into their studies.
Often time these foreign students simply lack the information they need. 
Some are unaware that they are entitled to the same free services offered the German students, including psychological counselling, general welfare counselling, group offers, legal advice and workshops of the leisure time facilities offered by the Studentenwerk.
