German students basically have the right to receive the student grant (BAföG) as long as the student meets the relevant requirements. Depending on their right of residence foreign students also can receive this financial support.
BAföG could only be granted beginning with the month in which you have applied (of course beginning with the studies at the earliest). The incoming mail stamp is the decisive factor for this decision. You also do not have to wait until you have all documents needed. You can also hand the missing documents to us later. From the application until the first payment we surely do need some time, so please put your application in as early as possible.
