Legal Accident Insurance
By federal law, every student who is enrolled at the college level is entitled to receive legal insurance.
Accidents connected to academic study, during lectures, (including semester breaks), library use, excursions or student organization activities, accidents on college roads or home falls are covered by insurance. Coverage of these accidents requires proof of the student’s matriculation level.
In addition to this legal accident insurance, the student union at Magdeburg offers students leisure-activity insurance.

Legal Health Insurance and Nursing Insurance
Every student must present documented proof of health insurance and nursing insurance whether through their own insurance policy or that of their parents, husband or family. Nursing insurance is combined with federal and state health insurance to determine coverage eligibility.

Liability Insurance
With the large number of insurance applications we receive, it is impossible to generalize about coverage benefits.
As there is no insurance coverage for liability damages, those who destroy property most certainly face expulsion.
Each student should be responsible for providing the pertinent information necessary to determine eligibility and/or benefits. Students should learn as much as possible about their specific requirements and research various insurance quotes for their own benefit.
Government Pension
With the introduction of a new educational support law in October, 1996, a student pension provision was introduced. With the opening of the borders of the European Union, part-time employment has been allowed. Unemployment insurance, health unsurance and nursing insurance are all included under the "work student regulation" provision.
