A BAföG application form comprises:

• Form 1,
• the enclosures related to form 1 (I and II)
• BAföG certificate of matriculation (machine-made)
• one form 3 (each parent one form)

Form 1 needs to be filled in by the student himself and comprises all personal data, figures and the housing situation as well as personal income and assets. Please pay special attention to the details related to the educational and professional development of form 1 enclosure I. Make sure that your details are complete to avoid additional questions. This is very important for the investigation of any claim of support independent from the student's parents. If you are already have a child/baby at your household you will also get an additional childcare allowance. This allowance you will have to apply for with the help of form 1 enclosure II.

Form 2 will be replaced by the machine-made BAföG certificate of matriculation.

Form 3 are statements on income information of the parent and possibly information about the husband.  Further more information about your personal situation is necessary (i.e. what type of employment and the family status) . This also applies for more children of your parents.  If only one parent has an income, the unemployed parent can state that on the form on page 4.  If both parents have an income, they both have to fill out an income declaration (form 3). The income will be verified by the graduate tax income from two years ago before the begin of the appropriate period (2 years prior to the application).

All personal information as well as the financial situation of further children of your parents will be taken into consideration during the appropriate period.

If the necessary tax return is not available for the office the scholarship will not be granted.
